StarWars.com has confirmed the Untitled Han Solo Anthology film has begun filming. The blog post detailed filming began on Febuary 20th:

Cameras are rolling on the adventure-filled past of the iconic scoundrel and everyone’s favorite Wookiee; principal photography on the untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story officially began February 20 at Pinewood Studios, London.

While not a lot of information is known about the plot, details were revealed as to what the movie will follow:

The movie will explore the duo’s adventures before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, including their early encounters with that other card-playing rogue from a galaxy far, far away, Lando Calrissian.

This movie also has some top tier talent including Bradford Young (Director Of Photography) who was nominated for an Academy Award for his his work on Arrival, and Rob Bredow who last year was promoted to Chief Technology Officer for LucasFilm. The writers include Lawrence and Jon Kasdan. Lawrence of course helped write movies such as The Empire Strikes Back, The Return of the Jedi, and Raiders of the Lost Ark. Jon was the director of Califirnication and was a writer for Dawson’s Creek. Woody Harrelson has also been confirmed and will be joining the cast as well. The cast is shaping up to be amazing with those such as Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, and Han Solo himself Alan Ehrenreich. 

The movie has a release date of May 2018 but some believe that will be pushed back until later in the year.
